Wilma Alice Provost

Wilma Alice (Bailey) Provost, 87, of Mansfield Center, wife of the late Clarence E. Provost, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Douglas Manor in Windham. She was born November 25, 1919 in Guilford, Maine, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Greeley) Bailey. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Irma Lois Bailey and a son-in-law, David DeJoseph. She is survived by three children, Richard L. Provost and his wife Gail of North Franklin, Judith P. Warner of Mansfield Center and Claire J. DeJoseph of Avon; two grandchildren, Heather M. Kies of Manchester and Corporal Nathan L. Provost USMC stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC; two sisters, Eunice Brewer and her husband T. Robert of Ft. Myers, FL, Marylou Wheeler and her husband Harold of Dexter, ME; and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter ME and attended Aurora College in Aurora, IL. Wilma retired from Windham Community Memorial Hospital where she was employed as a cashier. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Willimantic for over 50 years serving on numerous boards and committees. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Douglas Manor Resident Activity Fund, 103 North Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
