William H. Strede

William H. Strede, 85, of Coventry, passed away December 27, 2016 peacefully at home with his family by his side. Bill?s passion was doing outdoor activities with his family, and was a proud member of the Operator Engineers Local 478. He is veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jean (Gawlak) Strede, a daughter Lori Beecher and her husband Chuck, a son Gregg Strede and his significant other Robin of Coventry; two brothers Emil (Buddy) Strede and his wife Marlene of Coventry and Raymond Strede of Florida and a sister Eleanor Costello of Mansfield; two sisters in law Helen Fiano and her husband Rocco and Wanda Connor; and several nieces and nephews. Bill?s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday December 31, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic, with his funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Coventry Fire Department, 3427 Main St. P.O.
