William E. Mcarthur

William E. McArthur, 91, of Willimantic, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Windham Hospital. He was born February 25, 1921 in Somerville, MA, the son of William and Marion (Hodgkins) McArthur and had lived in Windham all his life. He was a graduate of the Willimantic Normal School, now Eastern Connecticut State University, and taught in the Coventry school system for many years until his retirement. William was recently inducted into the ECSU Baseball Hall of Fame. He was an avid Red Sox fan and collector of Red Sox memorabilia. He and his friend Joe Rasicot traveled to many Red Sox games together. He is survived by his beloved sister, Jean McArthur of Willimantic and several cousins including Lois, Ken and Linda in New York State. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in New Willimantic Cemetery, Rte. 32 at Rte. 6, Willimantic. There are no calling hours.
