William Ireland Jr

William Ireland Jr. 95, of Chaplin, husband of the late Niela Ireland, died Monday September 3, 2007 at his home. He was born December 23, 1911 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of William Ireland Sr. and Maude (Wildman) Ireland. William lived in Georgetown, Delaware where he was employed as a soil scientist for the Federal Government, before he retired to Venice, Florida. He was also an antique dealer while living in Delaware. William enjoyed going on many cruises all over the world. He will miss his Wednesday lunch and Thursday morning breakfast at the Chaplin Senior Center. He is survived by a son William Ireland III and his wife Sally of Chaplin, a daughter Patricia Ireland of Houston, TX, a sister Elsie Weaver of Venice, Fla., seven grandchildren, Ruth Ridgaway and her husband Mark of Houston, TX, Clifford Click and his wife Melanie of San Jose, CA, Eric Click of Atlanta, GA, Kathy Burdick and her husband Scott of Willimantic, Ann Poudrier and her husband Phillip of Chaplin, Sally Lehoux and her husband Ernie of Hampton, and Jane Scanlon and her husband Kevin of Chaplin. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and several step children. He was predeceased by his first and second wives Ruth Emily Ireland and Tina Ireland. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday between 6:00pm and 7:00pm with a Funeral Service at 7pm.
