William R. Hockla

William R. Hockla, 87, of Ashford, husband of his loving wife Kathleen (Csaszar) Hockla and Corgi, Maxwell, passed away March 21, 2018. He was the only child of late Stephen and Irene Hockla. William was born in Stafford Springs, CT and raised in Willington, CT. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a retired engineer from United Technologies Pratt & Whitney with over 40 years of service. Bill enjoyed being a supporter of UCONN sports, especially the women's basketball. He also enjoyed his trips to casinos to play craps. He along with his late first wife, Geraldine, a professional dog handler, were breeders of German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, and Newfoundlands. In addition to his wife, Kathleen and Maxwell, Bill leaves, sister-in-laws; Edeltraud Laurin of Ashford, CT and Barbara Reed and husband James of Marlborough, CT; brother-in-law, Charles Csaszar and wife Karen of Nokomis, FL; nieces, Janina Laurin Schneider and husband George of Danbury, CT, Darlene Laurin of Washington, GA, Karen Reed of Arlington, VA, Cheri Shallenberger and husband Bill of Uncasville, CT; nephews, Theodore Laurin and wife Lynda of Kingsland, GA, James Reed, Jr. of Marlborough, CT and many grand nephews.
