William H. Hills

William H. Hills, 90, of W. Main St. Hebron, husband of the late V. Ruth (McCourry) Hills, died Sunday May 1, 2005 at Haven Health Center of Windham in Willimantic. He was born Jan. 16, 1915 the son of Mark and Helen Hills. He was a W.W.II Army veteran serving as a radio repair instructor. Mr. Hills at one time owned and operated the Texaco gas station in Hebron and then served as the Hebron Postmaster for many years. He was a ham radio operator with the call letters, K1YWB, and also enjoyed collecting radios. Mr. Hills also enjoyed riding the many motorcycles he had owned over the years. He is survived by a son and daughter in law Henry and Rosemary Hills of Vernon and 3 grandchildren, Alisa, Kathleen and Michael. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Funeral services and burial will take place on Friday in Burnsville, N.C. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Resident Council Recreation Account at Haven Health Center, 595 Valley St. Willimantic, Ct. 06226.
