William Francis Forsythe Jr., 66, of Storrs, recently of Loma Linda, California, passed away Monday June 23, 2003 in Storrs after a long term illness. He was born in Windham Hospital on February 13, 1937 the son of Eleanor Sands of Storrs and the late William F. Forsythe Sr. He graduated from Windham High School in 1955. William earned a Bachelor's Degree in biology at Atlantic Union College in 1959 and his Master's Degree in microbiology in 1976 at Loma Linda University. He enjoyed a career in microbiology, specializing in Tuberculosis and Mycology. Mr. Forsythe was an assistant professor at Loma Linda University where he received the Teacher of the Year Award two years in a row. In addition to his mother he is survived by three sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and Bruce Remington of Tampa, FL, Joyce and Ned Connolly of Sharon, MA, Christine and James Casson of Waynesville, OH, 2 nephews, Ryan and Justin Casson of Waynesville, OH and other family and friends who will miss him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Burial will follow in the Storrs Cemetery.
