William "Bill" Ernest Law

William ?Bill? Ernest Law, 57, of Bolton, Connecticut, passed away on September 25, 2016. He was born on December 30, 1958 in Providence, Rhode Island to Ernest William and Gertrude (Gradie) Law. He married Karen Miller on December 18, 1982. Bill was a devoted father, who loved and cared for his two sons immensely. He was a dedicated musician who played the keyboard, bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitars, drums, and sang lead and harmonic vocals. He played with many local musicians and wrote countless songs over the years, self-producing many albums? worth of recordings. His favorite artists include the Beatles, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, The Band, Robbie Robertson, Roger Waters, Cat Stevens, Lana Del Ray, and Amy Winehouse. His other interests ran from baseball to NASCAR and building model cars. Bill loved sharing his considerable knowledge with others. He enjoyed telling stories of the past, sharing memories, and recording special and ordinary events on video. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed many aspects of life. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife Karen Miller Law of Bolton, CT; two sons, Trevor William Law of Minneapolis, MN, and Brian Christopher Law of Daytona Beach, FL; mother Gertrude (Gradie) Law of Mansfield, CT; father Ernest William Law and his partner Clyde ?Dave? Funk of Carlsbad, CA; sister Cheryl A. Law and her significant other Stephen Gerich of Vernon, CT; brother Robert W. Law and his significant other Linda McKeller-Augustin of Hampton, CT. He was predeceased by his older brother Timothy P. Law. Bill?s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday October 2, 2016 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. A service in celebration and remembrance of Bill?s life will begin at 3:00pm at the funeral home.
