September 3, 1954 — March 4, 2016

William J. DuPlessis of Willimantic, formerly of Wallingford, died on March 4, 2016 at Windham Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Kareena Pedersen DuPlessis, his wife of 34 years. William was born in Meriden on September 3, 1954, the son of George L. DuPlessis and Barbara (Craig) DuPlessis. He was educated in local schools, first in Meriden and later in Wallingford. He graduated in 1972 from Lyman Hall High School where he was a member of both the concert and marching bands and also the varsity soccer team. Bill had a 35-year career in logistics and inventory control, beginning with Digital Equipment Corporation, Entex and finally Staples Office Supply before his retirement in 2013. A talented vocalist and drummer, Bill had a life-long love for Rock 'n Roll and played with several Connecticut-based bands over a span of more than three decades, including The Convertibles, Nor'easter, B.B. Hind and the Blue Mooners, Common Bond and Mid-Life Crisis. Bill had many outside interests, including fishing, baseball, photography, talk radio and spending time with his family and friends. He was especially fond of coastal Maine and spent several summers vacationing there with his family. He will forever be remembered for his special sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kristen MacLeod and her husband Andrew MacLeod of Vernon; Erika DuPlessis and her husband Timothy Rhodes of Ashford; a sister, Joan D. Quirk of Meriden and his grandson, Landen Rhodes. He is also survived by his two first cousins, David Clarke of Williamsburg, Virginia and Kathy Clarke of Salisbury, Vermont. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to your local Relay for Life Team. To sign his online memorial book, please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com .
