Wilfred N. Desrosiers

January 30, 1925 — February 17, 2013

Wilfred "Willy" Napoleon Desrosiers, 88, of Chaplin, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 with his wife and family by his side. He was born January 30, 1925 in Fall River, MA, son of the late Olvid and Marie (LaPlante) Desrosiers. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Claire (Marshall) Desrosiers. He was a proud and decorated veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Staff Sergeant with the 7th Infantry Division for his tour in Germany and France during WWII. He received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After his honorable discharge he worked as a tradesman for many years before retiring as an electrician from ECSU in 1987. Some of his greatest pleasures were spending time with family and friends, camping, square dancing and woodworking. He truly was a jack of all trades. He always stayed busy lending a helping hand. Later in life he truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lyn Pearl but leaves behind along with his devoted wife, son Lee Desrosiers and wife Tammy, son-in-law T.J. Pearl, six grandchildren, Heather, Jeremy, Chris, Jody, Victoria and Cory and seven great grandchildren Alexandrea, Kaelyn, Gracie, Aerian, Mackenzie, Liam and Jayce. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. There will be a visitation on Wednesday Feb. 20, 2013 between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at 9:45am in the church parking area. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. For those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Wilfred, his family suggests Hampton-Chaplin Ambulance Corps, P.O.
