Wilfred Joseph Costa Jr

Wilfred Joseph Costa, Jr. of North Windham, CT, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2011 at Windham Hospital. He was born in Provincetown, Massachusetts on November 29, 1932, the son of the late Wilfred Costa, Sr. and Mary Veara. He received a Pharmacist degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston and moved to Connecticut in 1962 with his family. He worked for many years at Uncas on Thames Hospital and several area pharmacies. In his retirement he enjoyed drawing and painting, collecting coins and stamps, playing Bingo, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Anne (Singer) Costa; his son Mark and wife Brenda (Coder) Costa; his daughter Carol and husband Joseph Anthony Piscetello; his brother Vernon and wife Joan Costa; his brother Edward and wife Karen Veara; his grandchildren Stephanie, Michelle, Andrea, Alex, and Leanna; and five nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. on Thursday Aug. 4th between 6:00 and 8:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday Aug. 5th at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
