Wilbur B. Landon, 87, of Chaplin, husband of Gertrude (Butler) Landon, died Monday Nov. 8, 2010 at Windham Hospital. He was born on Jan. 16, 1923 in Chaplin the son of Floyd and Marion (Burdick) Landon. Wilbur was a World War II Army veteran serving in France and England. He was retired from the State of Ct. DOT Highway Dept. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John Landon and his wife Suzanne of Scotland, Shirley Rakos and her husband John of Chaplin, Wayne Landon and his wife Nancy of Scotland and Frank Landon and his wife Melanie of Chaplin; brothers, Kenneth and Walter Landon of Chaplin, sisters Virginia Arnold of Windham, Alice Musial of Chaplin and Peggy Hansen and Fern Legault both of Manchester; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Brenda Loree, brothers Howard and Gordon and sister Verna. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday Nov. 10th at 11:00am in South Chaplin Cemetery, Rte. 198, Chaplin.
