Wesley M. Arcenas

June 6, 1979 — April 2, 2004

Arcenas, Wesley Michael Wesley Michael Arcenas, 24, beloved son of Danilo S. Arcenas Sr. and Naida E. Arcenas entered into eternal peace on Friday, April 2, 2004, at home. Born June 6, 1979 in Middletown, CT, Wes grew up in Willimantic and later resided in Andover and South Windsor. As a youngster, Wes participated in the Willimantic Little League, Boy Scouts, and football, but his special love was hockey. Wes played hockey for several area teams, including Echo, Columbia, Springfield Olympics, Windsor, and E.O. Smith High School, from which he graduated. Wes was the first in the history of E.O. Smith hockey to score a varsity goal. He later attended Western New England College, Eastern Connecticut State University and Manchester Community College. All of his years as a Boy Scout led him to choose careers that involved the outdoors, where he worked as a landscaper, roofer, and in construction. Wes had a special talent as a performer of Polynesian dances. He enjoyed following the Chicago Bears, New York Yankees, and the men's and women's UConn Huskies basketball teams. He had an infectious smile and a gentle heart. He leaves his love with his mother Naida and stepfather Mark Luntta of Andover and father Danilo, of South Windsor; sister Allisa and her husband Michael Cronin of Loudonville, NY; brother Danilo Arcenas, Jr. of Nevis, West Indies; grandmothers Emily Corson of Englewood, FL and Eileen Williams of Mansfield, CT; his special joys, his nieces Julia and Lily Cronin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Calling hours are Tuesday April 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday April 7, 10:00am at St Joseph Church 99 Jackson St Willimantic, with assembly at the church. Burial will be private.
