Wendell R. Moshier, 84, of Storrs, husband of the late Dorothy (Church) Moshier, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 in Hampton. He was born April 5, 1922 in Willimantic, the son of Elliott and Leila (Fitts) Moshier. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran, honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Moshier owned and operated an oil burner business for thirty years. He was member and organist for Eastern Star Lodge #44 A.F. & A.M. and a Shriner. He loved music and played the trumpet and baritone as well as the organ. Wendell enjoyed gardening, cooking, working with stained glass and over the years built several family homes. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Susan Moshier of Hampton, a grandson Douglas Moshier and his wife Andrea of Alexandria, VA, a granddaughter Kate Maynard and her husband Matthew of Storrs, a brother, Norman Moshier and his wife Betty of Hampton, several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral service and burial will be private in Maine.
