Wayne Robert Hiltz, 57, of Willimantic, CT passed away on February 15, 2024. He was born in Windham, CT, son of the late Thurl A. and Barbara (Brisbois) Hiltz.
Wayne enjoyed working as a driving instructor for AAA for 23 years. He loved spending time with his family by their pool, his cats, going on vacations, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. He always said that he has a heart of gold.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary (Legace) Hiltz, sister Brenda Gagnon and her husband Gary, sisters in law Marie (Legace) Hiltz, Sandy, and Roberta Legace, brothers in law Jim and David Legace and his wife Kathy, nieces and nephews Scott Nelson, Ana Aponte, David Debonee and his fiancé Shannon, Melissa Spinner and her husband Tim, Justin and Danielle Legace, Bill Herrera, and Emily Tucker, great nieces and nephews Bryan Bill, Isabelle Debonee, Mia Legace, Leo Aponte, and Rio and Astria Nelson. Wayne was predeceased by his brother Jack Hiltz, brother-in-law Butch Legace, and niece Stephanie Legace.
There are no calling hours. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Franco-American Civic & Social Club, 116 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
