Wayne R. Gahwiller, 61, of Glastonbury, passed away Friday November 2, 2007. He was the son of the late William and Elaine Gahwiller. Wayne was born December 15, 1945 in Port Jefferson, New York. After graduating from E.L. Vandermeulan H.S. he attended Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He received his MBA from the University of Connecticut and a Masters in Engineering from RPI. Wayne had a 35 year long career with Combustion Engineering/ABB/Westinghouse Electric. He was proud to be deemed a Certified Professional Engineer. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family, saltwater boating and fishing, music, and reading. He was a passionate about history and enjoyed tracing his genealogy. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Gahwiller of Glastonbury, his three loving daughters, Christine Prentice of Brooklyn, NY; Barbara Camillo of Milford, CT; Katherine Welch of Brooklyn, NY, and two sons-in-law, Jason Camillo and George Welch. He is also survived by his Aunt Dorothy Schroeder of South Setauket, NY and his devoted cousins, Gary and Rayna Schroeder and Richard and Deborah Schroeder, as well as many dear friends. His family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Saturday Nov. 10th between 1:00 and 2:30pm with services beginning at 2:30pm.
