Walter Raymond Shaw, age 44, of Columbia, died on Tuesday July 1, 2003, as a result of work related injuries. He leaves behind his best friend and beloved wife Nancy and daughter Tessa. He was predeceased by his father Lawrence Shaw and is also survived by his mother Peg Pomo, his twin brother Michael, brothers Jeff, Gary and Robert and sisters Pam Adams, Terry Lynn Embser and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Walter loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed his family, friends and the view from "his hill" in Vermont. His generous spirit, great sense of humor and many inventions attracted friends from throughout the country. His passion for family, work, riding quads, snowmobiling and "collecting" fill his life. Walter was employed as a Journeyman/Linesman at IBEW Locals #42 and #104 for over 20 years. He was very proud of his work and was well respected by his union brothers. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. Above all, Walter's soul mate Nancy and daughter were the greatest loves of his life. He will live on in their hearts forever. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00am at the Christian Life Assembly, 143 Windham Rd., Willimantic. Cremation will follow. Please omit flowers.
