Walter J. Drouin, 76, of Willimantic, died Monday May 12, 2003 at the Haven Health Center in Willimantic. He was born Dec. 31, 1926 in Willimantic the son of Arthur and Arthemese (Baron) Drouin. He served in the 43rd Division of the U.S. Army National Guard and also served with the Army in Japan for 18 months during World War 2. He had been employed by his late brother Joseph A. Drouin, a building contractor in Willimantic, for many years. Walter was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Willimantic. He is survived by a son Douglas J. Drouin of Willimantic, 5 grandchildren; Mandy, Kelly, Justin, Christopher and Shannen Drouin, a great grandson Isaiah Alvarado, his former wife Lorraine Drouin of Willimantic, 3 brothers; David and William of Willimantic and Raymond of FL., and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
