Walter A. Madsen, 73, formerly of Lakeside Dr. Andover, husband of the late Joyce (Sorber) Madsen, died Tuesday April 13, 2004 at the Watch Hill Manor, Westerly, R.I. He was born Dec. 1, 1930 in Hartford, the son of the late Howard and Anna (Borman) Madsen. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and owned and operated Walt's Amoco in Andover for many years and then Walt's A-1 in Ashford. He is survived by 2 daughters; Judy Nixon and her husband John of Marlborough and Joyce Greene of Charlestown R.I., 2 brothers; Howard Madsen of Manchester and Raymond Madsen and his wife Ann of Enfield and a grandson Jacob Nixon of Marlborough. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday at 2:00pm in the Townsend Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Andover. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers.
