Walter G. Kokoszka, 85, of North Windham, husband of the late Martha (Sawyer) Kokoszka, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Windham Hospital. He was born November 28, 1922 in Middletown, the son of Albert and Katherine Kokoszka and had lived in Columbia most of his life. Prior to his retirement he was employed for 25 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. He and his wife then enjoyed 20 years of retirement in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Walter was a life member of the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department and loved the game of golf. He was a very proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by three children, Michael Kokoszka and his wife Noi of Lehigh Acres, FL, Joanne Kokoszka of Stuart, FL, and Katherine Wrana and her husband Jeffrey of North Windham, seven grandchildren, Thomas Kokoszka Jr. and his wife Tatiana, Paul Kokoszka and his wife Lori, Kevin Kokoszka, Julie Kokoszka, Thanat Kokoszka and his wife, Lada, Jessica Wrana and Jeffrey Wrana Jr., five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Thomas Kokoszka and an infant Walter Jr. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Columbia Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O.
