Walter A. Johnson

Walter A. Johnson, 95, of Willimantic, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Windham. He was born May 1, 1918 in Willimantic, the son of Ernest C. and Esther (Anderson) Johnson. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and prior to his retirement was employed as a civil engineer. He is survived by a sister, Phyllis Galambos of La Jolla, CA, two brothers, Leonard R. Johnson and Milton R. Johnson, both of Willimantic, two nieces, Carol E. Zaglio (Peter) and Nancy Smith (Steve) and a nephew, Robert E. Johnson (Carole). A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 96 Oak St. Willimantic. Burial will be private in the New Willimantic Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Windham Community Memorial Hospital Foundation.
