Walter H. Hansen

Walter H. Hansen, 81, of Manchester, formerly of Willimantic, husband of the late Betty Lou (Connell) Hansen, died Tuesday Nov. 22, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was born May 12, 1930 in Willimantic son of the late August and Agnes (Kristen) Hansen. Walter was a U.S. Armed Services veteran and had retired from the V.A. Hospital in Rocky Hill where he had served as warehouse supervisor. He was a member of American Legion Post #102, VFW Post # 2046 and the Zipser Club in Manchester. He was predeceased by two sons, Michael and Dean and a brother Ralph. He is survived by a son Kris Hansen and his fiancee Sandra Berube of Willington and a granddaughter Amanda Damboise of Willington. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday Nov. 28th between 9:30 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic prior to his 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary Church, Valley St., Willimantic.
