Walter Ereshena

Walter Ereshena, 85, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Douglas Manor in Windham. He was born October 25, 1928 in Windham, the son of the late Theodore and Prufta (Marco) Ereshena. A lifelong resident of the area, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 1724. He was employed by Electric Boat for over 40 years, Local 777, as a Quality Control Inspector. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed having coffee at McDonalds with his buddies and Tuesday lunches at the Lebanon Senior Center. He was an avid gardener and Boston Red Sox fan. He is survived by two daughters and a son, Lynn Ereshena-Manning and her husband Albert of Lebanon, and their children, Jasmine, Amber, Jabez, and Faith; foster daughters, Kellie-Lyn Hughes- Monroe and her husband Michael of Chaplin and their children, Zachary Hughes, Michael Jr., Hallie-Grayce and Jerimiah Dube; Kimberley Hughes- Johnson of Lebanon and her children, Lorenzo and Jordyn, and their husband and father who was preceded in death, Antonio Johnson; Kathy Ereshena of Atlanta, GA and her children, Rachael Lake and Katrina Carr; David Ereshena and his wife, Marisa Fermin of Bell Canyon, CA, and their children Dara and Siena; one brother Edward Nowak and his wife, Grace of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 9 brothers and a sister, Joseph, Stephen, Michael, Harry, Peter, John, Stanley, George, Frank and Mary Ereshena. His family will receive relatives and friends on May 17, 2014 between 9:30 and 10:30am with a service beginning at 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Interment will then follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to either Jonathan Trumbull Library, P.O.
