Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Friend, Walter J. Dobush, 90, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at his home in Columbia, CT. Born July 29, 1922, in Willimantic, CT and the son of Mary (Rusiecki) and Dymtro Dobush, Walter is survived by wife Ruth (Nolan) Dobush. Walter served three tours of duty in the United States Merchant Marines, during World War II, followed by a career in the field of industrial manufacturing spanning a 40-year period. Enjoying a lifetime of good health, until his unexpected passing from natural causes, Walter enjoyed woodworking, boating, and spending time with his family. Adored by his children for his unerring wisdom and grace, Walter leaves a daughter, Christine Dobush of New York City, and two sons, James Dobush and his wife Terry of Danbury, CT, and Michael Dobush of Coventry, CT; grandchildren, Brianne, Alexandra, Wyatt, and Gage, step-grandchildren, Allen James and Samantha Hall (and her son Jasper Rich); brothers, Henry Dobush and his wife Patricia, John Dobush, the late Stanley Dobush and sisters, Antonia Piasecki and Janet Dobush. Walter is lovingly remembered for his gentle and generous soul. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at New Willimantic Cemetery, Rt. 32 at Rte. 6 Willimantic.
