Walter J. Arson, 87, of Lebanon, husband of the late Eugenie (Gamache) Arson, died Tuesday April 12, 2011 surrounded by his family in the house he built. He was born in Lebanon on July 15, 1923 the son of Michael and Agnes (Miga) Arson. Walter retired from the University of Connecticut as a plumber and heating technician. He enjoyed restoring old Ford farm tractors and fixing chainsaws with his son-in-law, Arnie. He also trained homing pigeons and enjoyed being outdoors. Walter enjoyed being with his family on the holidays especially Easter. He also helped build the Log Cabin Restaurant. Walter is survived by a daughter Carolyn Postemski and her husband Arnie of Windham, a sister Elsie Wilhelm of Lebanon, two grandchildren Victor Postemski of Boston and Jason Postemski and his wife Erin of Manchester and two great grandchildren Peyton Riley and Hailee Paige Postemski and several nieces and nephews. He will miss his cat Goldie, whom he treasured. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister Fred Arson of Willimantic, Matthew Arson of Lebanon and Lena Wilhelm of Lebanon. Walter's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday April 14th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday April 16th at 9:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Town St. Lebanon, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow at New Lebanon Cemetery on Waterman Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 51, Lebanon, CT 06249.
