Wallace H. Chamberlin, 82, of Willimantic, husband of Mildred (King) Chamberlin, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Windham Hospital. He was born March 30, 1929 in South Windham, the son of Homer and Lillian (Rathburn) Chamberlin. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a corporal in the Military Police. Wallace retired from St. Joseph's Living Center in 1991. In addition to his wife of 62 years he is survived by two daughters, Linda Cain of Canterbury and Janet Osgood of Scotland, five sisters, Arlene (Bill) Balser of West Hartford, Verna (Ed) Phillips of East Windsor, Grace Kingsbury of Raymond, NH, Barbara Drum of Scotland and Donna Schatz of Willimantic, a brother, Bruce Chamberlin of Columbia, four grandchildren, Kim Cain, James (Tina) Cain, Julie (Dan) Melvin and Christopher Cain and five great grandchildren, Jonathan Rule, Ashley Rule, Dakota Melvin, Elyse Cain and Gavin Cain. His family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic with funeral services and military honors beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
