Virginia Leitch

Virginia Leitch, 87, of Willimantic, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in Windham. She was born January 5, 1918 in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of George and Julia (Fitzgerald) Leitch Sr. and moved to Stamford when she was 2 years old. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1935 and had lived in Willimantic for the past 40 years where she was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years at the University of Connecticut. Miss Leitch is survived by a sister, Dorothy Leitch of Willimantic, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, 3 brothers and 4 nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Friday at 8:15 a.m. prior to the procession to her Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. in St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave. Darien.
