Virginia Louise Benjamin, 93, of Marlborough, formerly of the Manchester/Vernon area, wife of the late Edwin Benjamin, died Thursday September 9, 2004 in Marlborough. She was born July 2, 1911 in Bethlehem, PA, the daughter of Lafayette and Alice (Trend) Fisher. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the State of Connecticut. During the 1970?s Virginia traveled twice with Rosalynn Carter?s Friendship Flights. She loved and was loved by her family. She is survived by 2 children and their spouses, Robert and Barbara Benjamin of Topsfield, MA, Sally and Roy Lawrence of Marlborough, 4 grandsons, William Lawrence and his wife Heather of Montevideo, Uruguay, Daniel Lawrence and his wife Mary Beth of Marlborough, Evan Benjamin and Taylor Benjamin, both of Topsfield, MA, 7 great grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua, Ian, Katherine Ann, Benjamin, Elijah and Lily Grace, a sister, Dorothy Pitner of Prescott, AZ, a sister-in-law, Steffie Fisher, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and a sister, James Fisher, Lafayette Fisher Jr. and Alice Rahn. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
