Viola L. Dickinson, 88, of Windham, wife of the late Charles A. Dickinson, died Monday, August, 6, 2012 at the Windham Hospital. She was born February 22, 1924 in Willimantic, the daughter of Adlard and Alice (Arel) LaVallee and had lived for many years in New Britain for many years before moving to Windham 13 years ago. She was a member of St. Margaret Church in Scotland and an avid fan of UConn Women's Basketball. She is survived by three children, Daniel Dickinson and his wife Terry of Southington, Alex Dickinson and his wife Sue of Windham, Marie Dickinson and her spouse Judy Beaulieu of South Windham, a brother, Leonard LaValle and his wife Kate of Frostproof, FL, five grandchildren, Eric Dickinson and his wife Kate, Thomas Dickinson and his wife Julie, Andrew Dickinson and his wife Wanda, Peter Dickinson and his wife Nora and Mark Dickinson, eight great grandchildren, Lisa, Olivia, Mateo, Isabella, Kailee, David, Seamus and Connor. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Dickinson, two grandchildren, Craig and Quincy Dickinson and two sisters, Jeannette Piontek and Juliette LaVallee. Her family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Church, Rte. 14, Scotland. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, 1309 Stanley Rd., New Britain.
