Vincent A. Sledjeski Jr., 60, of North Windham, formerly of Lebanon, husband of Geraldine (Tobin) Velk Sledjeski, died Wednesday October 2, 2002 in Windham. He was born August 5, 1942 in Willimantic the son of the late Vincent and Anna (Benoit) Sledjeski Sr. He was employed as a machinist at several area tool & die companies. Mr. Sledjeski was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, a member of Elks Lodge #1311 in Willimantic and enjoyed golf and boating. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Natasha Sledjeski of Rhode Island, a son, Frank Schaaf of Willimantic, 3 stepdaughters, Karen Williams and her husband Richard, Christina Shoemaker and her husband Herbert, and Dawn Velk, 2 brothers, Raymond Sledjeski and his wife Linda of Willington, Robert Sledjeski and his wife Barbara of Lebanon, 8 grandchildren, Tara Sledjeski, Jessi Brousseau, Roxanne Brousseau, Katlyn Velk, Hannah Shoemaker, Alyssa Williams, Amber and Colin Plourde, a great granddaughter, Alexys Gaudette, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Erika (Schaaf) Sledjeski. Graveside services with military honors will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town St. Norwich, CT 06360.
