Vincent Kelley Obituary
Vincent Paul “Vinny” Kelley, Jr., 93, of Bozrah, formerly of Willimantic passed away at home on February 18, 2025 after a brief illness.   Born October 23, 1931, in Torrington, to the late Vincent Sr. and Mary (Parks) Kelley, he spent his early years in Lebanon and graduated from Windham High School in 1949.  He received an associate’s degree from Bryant College and joined the U.S. Army and served from 1951 to 1953, including 13 months in Korea as part of the third infantry.  Following his military service, he returned to Lebanon, and pursuing his agricultural training, operated a large dairy farm for a year.

On July 4, 1957, Vinny married his wife, Alma (Gingras) Kelley who predeceased him in 2020.  They purchased their home in Willimantic and raised two sons: Paul (wife Valliere) of Snellville, Georgia and Douglas (wife Kristen) of Deltona, Florida.  He also leaves a sister, Jane Cady (Robert) of Lebanon.  He was also predeceased by sisters Katherine, Virginia, Claire and a brother, Robert.  Vinny leaves behind five grandchildren: Ashlee (husband Charles), Morilla, Sean Kelley, Grace Kelley, Paul Kelley Jr. and Riley Kelley and four great granddaughters.

Vinny worked in sales, as a cabinet maker, and in maintenance.  He became a friend of Bill W for nearly 50 years and through the years became well- known as a strong, compassionate support for many.

Vinny’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic.  His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, with burial to follow with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
