Victor Rychling, 89, of Basket Shop Rd., Hebron, husband of the late Ruth (Boynton) Rychling, died Sunday Dec. 30, 2001 at home. He was born Dec. 10, 1912 in West Point, VA., the son of Ludwik and Pawlina (Szychowski) Rychling. He was a 1932 graduate of Windham High School and was a former resident of Ashford and Coventry prior to moving to Hebron in 1949. For many years prior to his retirement, he owned and operated a dairy farm in Hebron which his family continues to operate today. Mr. Rychling was a member of the Farm Bureau and the CT. Milk Producers Assoc. For nearly 50 years, he was a 4-H Leader in Hebron in the areas of gardening, tractors and small gasoline engines. He was an avid UConn basketball fan! He is survived by 4 children; Allan Rychling and his wife Marian of Lebanon, Nathan Rychling and Gladys Bryant of Hebron, Shirley McFadden and her husband Peter of Noank ,Nancy Smith and Thomas Tefft of Columbia, 5 grandchildren; Cindy Spielman, Glen Rychling, Jeffrey Heck, Victor J. Smith and Tyler J. Smith, 3 great grandsons; Evan, Maxwell and Jed Heck and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters; Marie Contos and Jessie Guay and 3 brothers; Stephen, Alexander and his twin brother Eugene. His family will receive friends at the Potter F.H. 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willmantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:30pm with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the West St. Cemetery, Columbia.
