Victor L. Crabtree

Victor L. Crabtree, 83, of Chaplin, formerly of Windham, husband of the late Gertrude (Lariviere) Crabtree, died Monday May 20, 2002 in Windham. He was born November 11, 1918 in Providence, the son of Leonard and Edith (Bryan) Crabtree and had lived in the Windham area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Chaplin Congregational Church and active in the Windham Taxpayers Association. Mr. Crabtree was employed at the American Screw Co. in Willimantic and later at the Mansfield State Training School from which he retired. He is survived by 2 sons, Richard Brunell of Chaplin, Kenneth Crabtree of Windham, 4 daughters, Patricia Lizee and her husband Donald of Mansfield, Susan Brunell of Chaplin, Shirley Hocking and Joan Calabro, both of Rhode Island, a brother, Richard Crabtree, also of Rhode Island, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private in Windham Center Cemetery.
