Vernon G. Mason

Dr. Vernon G. Mason , 80, of Adams Heights Rd., Lebanon, died Monday May 5, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1923 in Willimantic the son of the late Harold J. and Gladys (Hewitt) Mason. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 2 and later served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. From 1953 to his retirement at the age of 68, Dr. Mason practiced Dentistry at his Main St. office. He was a member and former trustee of the First Congregational Church in Willimantic, a member of the Willimantic Rotary Club, the Jaycees and a former member of the Eastern Star Lodge #44 AF & AM. He is survived by his son William Mason of Lebanon, a daughter Sharon G. Mason of CT., 2 grandchildren; David M. and Kayley M. Siemiatkoski and his former wife Shirley A. (Harris) Mason of Willimantic. He was predeceased by a son Eric. The Mason family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer?s Assoc., Northern Ct.
