Vanda Joann Wilson

Vanda Joann (McIlwain) Wilson, 57, passed?away?unexpectedly Friday?morning. She was born in Willimantic Connecticut on January 13, 1959 and lived?her entire?life here.?Vanda spent her life in the service of others, both as a professional caregiver, as well as a Mother?and Nana. She was well known around Town and?loved by?many. Vanda will be truly missed.?She was predeceased by her parents,?Vadon Jasper McIlwain and Catherine Marjorie?Feeney?McIlwain, and her brother Vana Jerome McIlwain. Vanda leaves behind her beloved?partner of many years, Roland Castilliones; her 5?children; son,?Carlos Juan Mangual Jr and Wife Yolly Almodovar,?daughter,?Maria Zenovia Mangual and husband Xavier Rivera, her twin boys,?Edwin Mangual and?Ontoniel Mangual, wife Rosaura Mercado, and daughter,?Zamanta Batista;?Her 7 siblings,?sister, Alice Roberta Coleman?of stonington CT, Brother,?Vadon Lawrence McIlwain and wife Andrea?of Waterford CA, sister, Jacqueline Ann Mcilwain and husband Dr. Alan skidgell of Newington?CT, sister, Vadona Cunningham of Tolland, brother?Vern McIlwain and wife Sally?of Killeen Texas, sister, Veronica jay stankiewicz and husband Thomas stankiewicz of Tolland, and?Sister, Vicki Jo Lucky and husband Thomas Ackley of Florida, Vanda also leaves behind her ten?grandchildren;?Ivan Sanchez,?Yollyangelis?Roche,?Vandalee Mangual, Jada Mangual, Jaden?Mangual, Xavier Rivera, Carlos Juan Mangual,?Jaylani?Mangual,?and?Alana Rivera. She was also an aunt and second mother to many people she loved.?Family will receive relatives and friends Monday, May 16, 2016 from 5-7pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte 195) Willimantic, CT with a family gathering to follow at the Willimantic VFW.
