Valerie Craig

Valerie Craig, 72, of Chaplin, CT, died September 21, 2015. Valerie was born on May 14, 1943 to Reverend Ralph Seguine and Marguerite Seguine. She grew up in Norwalk, CT and at a young age moved to Chaplin where she and her first husband raised two beautiful children. She is survived by her daughter Karen and her husband John Porter of Mansfield and her son Matthew and his wife Nan Hyde of Brattleboro, VT. Three wonderful grandchildren, Brian and Amy Porter and Thomas Hyde. Two brothers, Joel Seguine of Ann Harbor, MI and Darrell Seguine of Killingly, CT. Valerie is also survived by her present husband Del Craig, who she shared 13 wonderful years with in their home in Chaplin. Her life was taken too soon by cancer, a disease that she fought hard to prevent. Valerie was the captain of a relay for life team with the American Cancer Society called Splendid Walk. A passion that she was very serious about. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to the American Cancer Society, Windham Area Relay for Life in the team of Splendid Walk. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, September 25, 2015, at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT; the family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment to follow at South Chaplin Cemetery.
