Thomas R. Lincoln, 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after battling a long bout of illnesses on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his home in Lebanon, CT. Tom was born March 27, 1940 to father, Thomas ?Sam? Lincoln, and mother, Hedwig ?Hebby? Lincoln. Born and raised in Bristol, CT, Tom grew up enjoying baseball and breaking records in selling newspapers for the Hartford Courant. He went to Goodwin Technical School and trained to be a machinist. After serving in the Marines Corps. out in California in the 1950?s, Tom returned to CT to become a machinist at Stanley Works until his retirement in 1996. He met the love of his life, Bernadette Martin and married her in 1967. Tom and his wife settled down in Bristol where they raised their two children. Tom was an avid bird watcher and dog enthusiast. He also enjoyed many years as a member of the Bristol Elks, where he worked the Bingo Committee and served as Exalted Ruler in 1995. Tom was predeceased by his parents, and brother Terry. He is survived by his wife; son Daniel Lincoln and his wife Melanie and three children Stephanie, Jacob, and Tori, of Bristol, CT; and daughter Brigit Tanganelli and her husband Thomas (T.J.) and their son Asher, of Lebanon, CT. Tom greatly loved each one of his grandchildren and they will miss him terribly. He also leaves behind his brothers Steven Lincoln and his wife Lori, Peter Lincoln and his wife Stella, and sisters Mary Ellen Lincoln and Ruth Lincoln, along with his nephew Kevin, and nieces Kira, Natalie, Ella, and Sarala. The family wishes to send the greatest of thanks to the nurses, aides, and therapists from Masonicare, Mansfield Rehab, Community Companions and Homemakers, and Home Instead Senior Care who worked diligently to care for Tom over the past year with immense compassion and dignity. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Masonicare (The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492) or The Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department (23 Goshen Hill Rd., Lebanon, CT 06249) for their compassion and support. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., at Saint Gregory the Great, 235 Maltby Street, Bristol, CT, with burial to follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Bristol.
