Thomas Franz Obituary
Thomas E. Franz, 86, of Coventry, CT passed away on December 28, 2020. He was born June 13, 1934 to the late Edward and Mary (Koval) Franz.
Tom was in the United States Airforce for over 20 years working as an air weapons commander. He retired as a Lt. Colonel. Tom was stationed all over the world and would always bring back trinkets to his niece’s delight. After retirement, he moved back to the family farm. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His passions were watching UConn sports, fishing, skiing, and gardening. His devotion to giving back to the community was selfless financially and with his time. His quick wit and dancing the jig will be sadly missed.
Thomas is survived by his nieces Marylou Breen and Patricia Breen; his best friend Joan; and his American Legion friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Arlene (Franz) Paquette.
His family would like to thank his care workers – Donna, his late-night confidante, Wendy, his reading buddy, Erika, and also his sleeping companion, Morse the cat.
Tom’s family will have a burial on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:00am at Nathan Hale Cemetery in Coventry, CT.
