Tom's life was characterized by his unwavering service to his country, his dedication to his family, and his passion for the great outdoors.
Tom graduated from Windham High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy. As a Fire Controlman First Class (FC1), Tom dedicated six years to his country, with his final three years stationed aboard the USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3) and the USS Copeland (FFG-25). His deployment on the USS Copeland during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 was a testament to his bravery and patriotism, and he was honorably discharged at the end of his enlistment
After his military service, Tom embarked on a distinguished 33-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He began his career at Bradley Airport in 1992 as an Airways Transportation System Specialist in the Radar Unit and departed in 2017 as the Technical Operations Manager at Bradley Airport Tower. He currently held a position that encompasses the entire eastern part of the United States as the Operations Engineering Group, Technical Services Manager. Throughout his years in the FAA, he served as a Field Incident Commander (FIC) following Super Storm Sandy and as an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Commander after hurricane Irma and Maria. His exceptional service did not go unnoticed, as he was the recipient of multiple service and merit awards, a reflection of his commitment to excellence and the high regard in which he was held by his colleagues.
Tom was predeceased by his father Eugene Bergeron, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Fauteux) Bergeron; son, Ryan Bergeron; and daughter, Katherine Bergeron and her husband, Brandon Morin.
