Thelma (Miller) Stallard, 98, of Storrs, Ct., widow of James E. Stallard Jr., died Tuesday Feb. 12, 2002 in Storrs. She was born in 1903 in Fairchance, PA. and had been a longtime resident of Juniper Hill Village in Storrs. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bluffton College in Ohio, in 1925. Mrs. Stallard was formerly of Bristol, TN., and was a retired commercial arts teacher at Holston Valley High School, Sullivan County, TN. She was a member of the Bluff City Chapter #414 Order of Eastern Star and a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, Bluff City, TN. She is survived by a son James E. Stallard III of Storrs, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. There will be no services. Burial will be with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mansfield Lions Club, 113 Beech Mountain Rd., Mansfield Center, Ct. 06250, for the Macular Degeneration Research Project.
