Sylvia D. Laidley

Sylvia Laidley WILLIMANTIC, CONN. - Sylvia (Dodge) Laidley, 87, died at the Haven Health Center of Willimantic, Conn. on Saturday, June 20, 2009. Born in Chelsea on Aug. 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Clara (Hemenway) Dodge. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1938, and moved to Franklin, Conn. She married Fred Laidley. He predeceased her on Sept. 15, 1992. She worked for many years for American Thread Company in Willimantic. She was a member of Franklin Congregational Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and attending local horse pulling events. She was predeceased by a sister Ruth Button of Chelsea. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, six great nieces, and two great nephews, along with three great, great nieces. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to attend a Funeral Service for her on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Franklin Congregational Church, 33 Meeting House Hill Road, Franklin, Conn.
