Suzanne (Starkel) Ricard, 84, of Coventry, CT, passed away on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Suzanne was a lifetime resident of Coventry.
In her youth she was a member of Coventry’s waterski team and in 1960, she was honored as Miss Firewoman of Eastern Connecticut. Suzanne’s life was marked by creativity and devotion.
She was a master craftsperson, and her hands were rarely still. She was always busy with countless projects that brought her joy including painting, doll making, and sewing. She shared her passions with her loving husband who used his woodworking skills to make her endless pieces to paint.
She was a long-time member of Coventry Home Crafters, and she exhibited her crafts at shows for over 30 years.
Her creativity was always on full display during the holiday season with her elaborate Christmas decorations which were enjoyed by many. In addition to her decorations, she enjoyed many holidays traditions with her family and friends including candy making, baking, and decorating Christmas cookies. Above all, she cherished her family, who were a source of endless love and pride. Some of her fondest memories were camping at Charlestown Breachway in Rhode Island with her family and friends.
Suzanne is predeceased by her beloved husband, Rene Ricard. She leaves behind her loving children, son Jeff Ricard, daughter Debbi-Sue Clark and her husband Dennis.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren Michael Ricard, Morgan Clark, Corey Clark and his wife Laura and many nieces and nephews.
Her legacy of warmth, artistry, friendship and devotion will fondly be remembered and deeply missed.
