Susan Aldrich Obituary
Susan Aldrich, 70 of Canterbury passed away May 24, 2021, four days after her birthday of a massive stroke.  Susan was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn Aldrich.  She is survived by her brother, Jan Aldrich.

Susan grew up in Meriden, Connecticut and Beaver, Pennsylvania.  She worked at Mason Labs in Massachusetts, was an Assistant Manager at the Book Corner in Worchester, owned a video store, the Canterbury Video View, and ended her work life at the Post Office in Scotland, Connecticut.  She served the Canterbury Library Board and was a member of the Friends of the Library.  Susan loved nature and animals and became an unintended cat rescuer when people abandoned their cats along the side of the road or in the woods behind her store during the hard times of the recession and pandemic. Prior to her passing, Susan was the subject on an unfinished manuscript for a children’s book, My Sister’s Cats: the Tale of an Unintended Cat Rescuer.  Hopefully, she will meet some of her furry friends on the other side.

Susan was a sweet friendly presence who loved contact with the public and will be greatly missed.  A memorial service is planned in a future announcement.
