Sue A. Cowen, 87, of Ashford, CT passed away on January 15, 2022. Born in Gary, IN, the daughter of the late Harrison and Ann (Boswell) Huff.
Sue was best known for her love of travel, cooking, quilting, and playing bridge. She was a voracious reader, downloading books until two days before her passing.
She was very active in her community, volunteering as the clerk and organist for the Westford Congregational Church and as a member of the Windham Theater Guild. She was also the Registrar of Voters in Ashford.
More than anything, she adored her family and was so proud of each one of them and enjoyed family game time. She is survived by her children, Greg Cowen and his wife, Mel, Ken Cowen and his wife, Kathy, and Scott Cowen; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Bates. Sue was predeceased by her husband, John S. Cowen.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 21, 2022 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Westford Congregational Church, 368 Westford Hill Rd. Ashford, 06278. A graveside service and memorial will be postponed until the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westford Congregational Church or the Windham Theater Guild, 779 Main Street, Willimantic, CT 06226 or calling 860-423-2245.
