Stewart Levesque, 58, of Scotland, set sail on March 7, 2014, to reel in "the big one" after a long and determined battle with cancer. Stewart's many joys in life were his family, friends, co-workers, and fishing, all of which played a key role in helping him to endure and carry on the fight so that he could continue to celebrate the many pleasures in life that were so important to him. He cherished the love and support given to him by his wife, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, and "special mom" Helen. Throughout his battle Stewart kept his sense of humor and those around him laughing which always inspired everyone who knew and met him. He and his wife were very grateful for the care and assistance provided by the Oncology group at Windham Hospital who helped him in completing all of the goals he set for himself. Stewart enjoyed spending time with his wife even if it meant stopping at every craft store or tag sale on the way to their destination. He took great pride in his daughter who provided him with life's most precious gift of grandchildren and was extremely proud of her determination in helping him press onward in his battle by her participation in the annual Relay for Life event with a team compiled of family and friends. Two of Stewart's favorite things in life, aside from his family, were work accomplishments including the 15 patents to his credit and time spent fishing. He always looked forward to the opening day of fishing season where he and his brother would find their favorite fishing spot that had the most fish biting. His love of fresh water fishing began as a young child and in later years developed into a passion for ocean fishing where he enjoyed countless fishing trips with good friend, "Captain" Tony. Other favorite pastimes included cooking, gardening, walks in his yard, attending the Woodstock fair, playing cribbage, apple and blueberry picking, and seeking out a good seafood restaurant. Stewart leaves behind his loving wife Sue, daughter Malinda Tyler and her husband Robert, grandchildren Mason and Maticyn, brother Kier Levesque and his wife Debbie, brother Daryl Levesque and his wife Wilma, sister Sherri Grant and her partner Bill, nephews Nicholas, Dale, Jason, and Keith, nieces Taylor and Kim, special mom Helen Germain and her partner Mike Vignone, father and mother-in-law Ken and Shirley Trabold, and brother-in-law Charles Trabold and his wife Helen. No services are planned at this time. The family plans to hold a celebration of his life once fishing season opens and the fish are biting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
