Steven Radell Obituary
Steven C. Radell, 55, of Coventry, CT passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2024.
Steve was born on August 1, 1969 in Hartford, CT to Anton Radell, his father, who taught him the value of hard work while logging in the mountains and a love of water by taking him sailing. His mother Bernice (Langdo) Radell, taught him how to arrange flowers and decorating skills in her floral business in Wethersfield.
Steve had a very full and happy life with Jacqueline Schuetz, his partner for over 27 years, and their fur baby, Pepper, whom he loved to spoil. He often told Jackie that she made him a better man and pushed him to his full potential. The couple was inseparable from the day they met in 1997. He felt her love, support, and care every day and loved her back.
Steven was predeceased by his father Anton Radell, his mother Bernice Radell, and his brother David Radell. He is survived by his love Jacqueline Schuetz, his daughter Sandra Armstrong, and grandson Patrick, his sister Cheryl Radell-Buckler and brother-in-law Robert, his brother Anton Radell II and sister-in-law Denise, his sister Cynthia Radell, and his sister-in-law Karen Smalley, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He confided that he was very proud of his daughter, Sandra and the mother she has become to his grandson, Patrick. He felt very lucky with the relationship he had with them.
Steve lived each day to the fullest. He had a passion for many things including: loud music, science, history, telling stories, chocolate, and Dunkin Donuts coffee. He loved the outdoors, enjoying: canoeing, kayaking, fishing, having fires in the backyard with Jackie, camping, and glamping at home-which he called “Camp Jackiki,” complete with a fire pit he built with a small block engine. Steve’s quick wit provided a wise crack for everything. He took pride in the way he conducted himself, in the way he dressed, how he looked, what he drove, and how he worked. He was always taking on home and yard improvement projects with Jackie like building a retaining wall, installing a hot water heater, and adding outdoor LED lights. He considered himself an auto mechanic and fixed their cars and always enjoyed having a car project to work on - his most recent being his 1989 Jeep Sahara with a “383 Stroker Engine.” He liked off-roading and loved to watch Matt’s Off-Road Recovery. He especially enjoyed hanging with his best friends Dave Prisk, Tom Delude, and Rob Prisk.
Steve was an accomplished Senior Project Manager with a contractor license in electrical engineering. He learned new things quickly. Early in his career he worked in photography development and traveled all over the United States and Europe, taking in all the sites in his free time. For many years Steve worked as a Senior Project Manager for Security 101. More recently he changed fields, going into fiber, with Luck Grove, a company within Pratt and Whitney.
