Stephen Warren Obituary
Stephen Michael Warren, known a?ectionately to friends and family as "Steve," passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born on February 19, 1948, in Windham, Connecticut and lived in Storrs, Connecticut for many years.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Constance Warren, with whom he shared a beautiful and enriching life. Their bond was further strengthened by the joy of their daughter, Hannah Warren. Steve’s legacy continues through his granddaughter, Delphine Thurman, and son-in-law, Mipam Thurman. He was a cherished brother to Frederick Warren, Dorothy Tsotsis and her husband Michael, Gordon Warren, Judith Curtin, and Katherine Cammuso and her husband Paul. His extended family included many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will remember him fondly for his kindness, wisdom, and handy nature. He is also survived by his sweet, old dog, Gracie.

Steve dedicated many years of service to the University of Connecticut's Facilities Maintenance before his well-deserved retirement. He was also a respected member of the AA community, having recently achieved 30 years of sobriety.

Those who knew Steve understood his passion for the great outdoors. He loved the ocean, hunting with his brother and friend, and found solace and joy in his garden, a testament to his nurturing spirit and love for nature. Steve was an enthusiast of classic rock and an avid reader, immersing himself in the intricate worlds of fantasy and science fiction. His intellectual curiosity was further satisfied by his love for crossword puzzles and word games. He was also a fervent supporter of local basketball, cheering on the UConn and Connecticut Sun teams with enthusiasm and pride.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Steve will remember him as a kind-hearted person, always ready with wise advice or a helping hand. His ability to fix almost anything earned him the a?ectionate title of the family's go-to handyman, a role he embraced with humility and pride.

As we bid farewell to Stephen Michael Warren, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by the love he gave and the love he received. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Steve's story is not one of an ending but of a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us - it is carried forward in the stories we share, the gardens we tend, and the love we continue to give. Rest in peace, dear Steve.

The family would like to thank the warm and caring sta? at Windham Hospital and the hospice nurses for their kindness in Steve’s last days.
