Stephen W. Lyford

Stephen W. Lyford, 61, of Willimantic, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. He was born March 30, 1950 in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, the son of Virginia (Bulmer) Lyford of Willimantic and the late William E. Lyford and had lived in Willimantic most of his life. He attended Parish Hill H. S. then enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving in Germany. He retired as a supervisor from the CT State Dept. of Developmental Services. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Michael Lyford of Chaplin, a sister, Ann Bartholomew of Willimantic, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Chris Lyford and a sister, Sherry Montoya. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association. The Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic assisted with arrangements.
