Stephen C Alvarado

Stephen C. Alvarado, 49, born on July 18, 1969 of Willimantic, Connecticut recently passed away at home. Stephen was survived by his son, Kyle, parents, Dorothy and Robert, brothers David and Jay, Sister, Dawn as well as many nieces and a nephew. Stephen was a well-known ?Hometown Hero? growing up. In 1983 at the age of 14 he was named ?Junior Olympic Weight Lifting Rookie of the year?. At the age of 16 he finished 4th at the United States Olympic Festival and at the age of 17 Stephen was slated to participate in the 1988 Olympic games in Seoul, South Korea. Stephen enjoyed the great outdoors all his life and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Calling hours will be held at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic on Monday, April 22, 4-6p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Perception Programs, Inc.
