Stasia Dzerve, 83, of Willimantic, died Tuesday Dec. 2, 2003 at a local nursing home. She was born Nov. 13, 1920 in Andrupene, Latvia the daughter of Mihaiels and Sofija Golubovs and was the widow of Aleksandrs Dzerve. Stasia was a Willimantic resident for many years. She was a retiree of The Hartford Insurance Group and a member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Willimantic. Stasia was an avid cross stitcher of ethnic designs, which she fashioned into wall hangings and pillows. To cherish her memory she leaves relatives in Latvia, friends and compassionate caregivers in Connecticut and friends in Arizona and Canada. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will be private in the Latvian Cemetery in Elka Park, N.Y. There are no calling hours.
